National Executive Committee

   34. The National President shall be assisted
by a National Executive Committee consisting of up
to twenty National Executive Committee members.
The National Executive Committee is not a board of
directors. There shall be ten classes of positions
of National Executive Committee members, with each
class consisting of two positions. A vacancy in the
office of a National Executive Committee member
occurs on the expiry of the incumbent's term of
office or upon the resignation or death of the
incumbent. Upon the term of office of a National
Executive Committee member expiring, the Branch
Presidents shall elect one of their number to fill
the vacancy. The National Executive may, by
resolution, appoint a member of the Union to fill a
vacancy in the National Executive Committee, other
than a vacancy caused by the expiry of a member's
term of office that can be filled by an election.
