The Australian Union of Students has been contacted by a purported international terrorist group called "Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition" (HMLO). HMLO is apparently led by a former Gold Coast property developer who calls himself the "Leader of the Opposition". Apparently the aim of HMLO is to illegally overthrow the Australian Government by armed force.

HMLO has provided us with a "hit list" of Australian celebrities who they would like to have assassinated or kidnapped. They have offered rewards for each person either killed or delivered to them at one of their "safe houses" in Australia. Apparently similar requests have been made to other conservative groups. The union has not been given the locations of the "safe houses", and nor are we able to contact HMLO any longer, because we did not give HMLO assurances of confidentiality.

While the union supports the overthrow of the Australian Government, we seek to do this by strictly legal means and not by resorting to terrorism. As a consequence, we have decided not to assist HMLO in their illegal scheme, but rather to publish their lists on the internet so that the people named in the lists can take precautions against being assassinated or kidnapped. Having said that, we will not be particularly sad if HMLO are successful in their plan. There are two lists, one of celebrities who HMLO want killed, and one of celebrities who they wish to hold as hostages to blackmail the Australian Government to give in to their demands.
